What Is DanceDonations.org?
We are a non-profit organization, in collaboration with Brett Raphael and Connecticut Ballet, that solicits and distributes boys and girls' dance costumes to less fortunate children and dance schools in the tri-state area.
What should I do with the costumes I want to donate?
What type of costumes are collected?
We will accept any type of ballet, jazz, tap, modern, lyrical or hip hop costume in any size. Girls’ and boys’ costumes are accepted. Our goal is to gather as many "like" costumes as possible so a school may create a theme and show surrounding the costumes. Dance shoes, tights, warmups and leotards are also happily accepted!
Where will the costumes be donated to?
In conjunction with Connecticut Ballet we have identified organizations in the tri-state area that are accepting these donations for their students that cannot afford to purchase costumes.
Do donated costumes need to be cleaned?
We ask that the costumes are lightly used, clean, and free of damages and stains.
Is my donation tax deductible?
While we are non-profit, we are currently not registered as a 501(C)(3). Please check with your tax consultant.
What if I don’t live in the tri-state area,
can I still donate?
We are happy to collect your costumes no matter where you live. Simply contact us and we will coordinate the details.
Is there a DanceDonations Chapter in my area?
Currently, we only operate out of the New York, NJ and CT area but would love to spread our love of dance with other less fortunate children. If you wish to start a chapter in you area, we would love to speak.
Are you an organization in need of costumes?
If you are an organization in need of costumes, please click the Costume Request Form located in the menu to the left. Tell us a little about yourself along with a description of the items you are looking for and click submit. We will do our best to match up your request to donations we receive!
